Our story
The Rijeka Tattoo Convention is the longest-running tattoo event in our region and the first of its kind in Croatia. In 2021, the convention celebrated its tenth anniversary, and on this occasion, a short documentary film was created by Mia Mohorić, one of the convention’s organizers. The film, co-financed by the Municipality of Kostrena, develops the story chronologically, following the growth of the convention, changes in venue, the move from the city to Kostrena, and the successful five years of hosting the event at the Sports Hall in Kostrena. The story’s participants include organizers and tattoo artists, predominantly from Rijeka, who share their experiences of the convention’s development and the Rijeka tattoo scene, which is now incredibly strong and rich. The film showcases the symbiosis between Rijeka’s artists and the convention’s organization, which together have created a recognizable event and a meeting place for over 100 exceptional tattoo artists. The documentary was filmed at several locations, including the first venue, the former Clubhouse of the Moto Club Fluminense Riders in Grobnik, who are also the founders of the Rijeka Tattoo Expo. The following two editions were held at Palach, which was chosen as the location for the premiere held on Thursday, November 17, 2022. The film was also screened at the 11th edition of the Rijeka Tattoo Expo.
